Blog site for Education

What is a blog? A blog is a journal that is available on web. for most business minded people, they use this as an advertisement for their business, for the news casters, it serves as their report where viewers or the readers can put their comments on it. Today, blog site also serves as an educational equipment for the teachers and students. since our generation today were really expose in different kind of technology and also in different kinds of website that helps them to update things and happenings where they also learned from it.

To make learning more exciting, some effective teacher use blog site for their students where they put their answers from a particular questions from the blog. Blog sites can be seen by anyone, so if your student answer the question from your blog, it can be seen by his or her classmate that can help them to have ideas or know the opinion or answer of their other classmate. If teachers used blog site for educations, it shows their being resourcefulness and creativeness in teaching. Because in blogging you can make your own blog and add some designs which is appropriate for your topic. Blogging is also helpful in terms of students who does home studying because they will  just simply open the blog and put their answers in the site. They do not need to go to the teacher or the teacher will go to the student, it will just consume time and effort.

As our technology becomes high tech, education must also be improve for the betterment of our students for their future. as a future teachers we must able to learn different kinds of way of teaching. because as a teacher, we are must be updated not just in academic but also the things that surround us. so that we will not be illiterate and we may give or hare to our students the things that can help them to prepare for the real world.

Content of the lesson plan

The content of my lesson plan is all about Adding Similar fraction. First we must know what is Similar Fraction. Similar Fractions are fractions with the same denominators
examples: 1/9  2/9  5/9  7/9.
                                                                                 In Adding Similar Fractions.
Example:
John walked 1/2 of a mile yesterday and 3/4 of a mile today. How many miles has John walked?

Solution

This word problem requires addition of fractions

Choosing a common denominator of 4, we get

1/2 + 3/4 = 2/4 + 3/4 = 5/4

So, John walked a total of 5/4 miles.

Lesson Plan In Mathematics

A SAMPLE LESSON PLAN IN MATHEMATICS GRADE FOUR
USING BLOCK MODEL APPROACH
I. Objective
Solves word problem involving addition in similar fraction
{Learn to be generous all the time}
II. Subject Matter
A. Solving word problem involving addition in similar fraction
B. BEC-PELC, Mathematics 4, Textbook, pp. 105-106
C. Textbooks, flashcards, charts, show-me-board, cut-out objects
III. Learning Procedure
A. Drill
Identify whether the given fraction is proper or similar fraction
1. 5/4
2. 1/5
3. 6/8
B. Review

Tell whether each given example is similar or dissimilar fraction
1. 2/4, 1/2, 1/3
2. 3/5, 1/5, 2/5
3. 1/8, 3/8, 5/8
C. Motivation
*(Hanapin mo ang kasama ko)
*Finding the pair of object in order to form a similar fraction and after that adding all the newly found objects by using their corresponding fraction as written on the object.
B. 1. Presentation
Amy and Iris were invited in a party. Amy eats 2/4 of the whole cake, and Iris eats twice as much Amy has eaten. How many parts of the cake they have eaten in all?
Amy-
2/4
Iris-
4/4
Now, we will use shaded and not shaded blocks to represent the parts of the cake that they have eaten in all. So, out of six parts of the cake, Amy has eaten two parts of it, while Iris has eaten four parts of it. Thus, the shaded blocks represent the total parts of the cake they have eaten in all.
Therefore; 2/4+4/4= 6/4 or 1 and 2/4
6/4- total parts of the cake did Amy and Iris have eaten in all.
2. How many parts of the cake did Amy and Iris eat in all?
3. In adding similar fraction, simply add the numerators and copy the denominators of each fraction, reduce it to the lowest term if necessary.
4. How will you add similar fractions?
5. Find the sum
Ariel and Allan were given a gift by their grandma. Ariel received ½ amount of the gift as much as Allan received. What is the total amount of the gift did they receive in all?
IV. Evaluation
Solve the given problem that involves addition of similar fraction. (5 POINTS each)
1. Annabel and Gil were attended a debut party. Annabel eats 3/4 of the whole pakwan, and Gil eats twice as much Annabel has eaten. How many parts of the pakwan they have eaten in all?
2. Alex and Allexa were given P 200 by their grandma for their weekly allowance. Alex received 3/4 amount of the money as much as Allexa received. What is the total amount of the allowance did each receive in all?
V. Homework/Assignment
Look for a problem that involves addition in similar fraction and report it in front of the class.
